Invisalign in San Antonio, Schertz & Austin

One of the most popular treatments we offer is the Invisalign clear aligner system. Invisalign is a clearly unique & discreet way to improve a smile using a series of clear, removable aligners which gradually move teeth step-by-step.

When you’re wearing Invisalign, you never have to worry about how you will look with braces on your teeth because there are no metal wires or brackets used! And, since the smooth plastic aligners are removable, you can continue enjoying all your favorite foods as there are no wires or brackets that can bend or break when eating hard, crunchy or sticky foods. It is also simple to maintain good oral hygiene with Invisalign as you just take your aligners out to brush and floss and then just pop them back in when done!

Invisalign Treatment StepsSteps in the Invisalign Process

By understanding how the Invisalign process works, you can determine whether or not you want to choose this orthodontic treatment option for improving your smile.

  • Visit Our Office. The first step involves making an appointment with us so we can provide you with a thorough exam to determine if you’d make a good candidate for Invisalign. If we do determine that you can benefit from Invisalign treatment, we will proceed to the next step in the process of improving your smile with clear aligners.
  • Development of a Personalized Treatment Plan. Once we take X-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth, we will send these records to Align Technology, the maker of Invisalign, so your custom-made aligners are created just for you using advanced 3D imaging technology. We will then create a personalized treatment plan and tell you how long you can expect to wear your aligners.
  •

  • Visit Us Again to Receive Your Aligners. Once your custom-made Invisalign aligners arrive at our office, we will ask you to come in so we can give them to you and show you how to wear them and keep them clean. You will be told to wear your aligners at all times except for when you eat and brush & floss your teeth. It is important to wear your aligners for the recommended 20 to 22 hours each day in order for your treatment plan to stay on track.
  • Switch to New Aligners Every 2 Weeks. About every two weeks, you will wear a new set of aligners as your teeth gradually move into their new positions. We will have you come into our office every six weeks so we can check your progress. Once you have worn all the aligners in the series we give you, your Invisalign treatment will be finished and you’ll have that amazing new smile you’ve been dreaming of!

Taking Care of Your Aligners

It is very easy to take care of your aligners as you simply brush them with a soft bristled toothbrush and toothpaste after eating meals or snacks and then rinse them off before putting them back in. Just remember to always use cool or lukewarm water when cleaning your aligners because hot water will warp the plastic to make them unwearable.

At the end of your Invisalign treatment, we will determine if you need to wear a retainer to keep your teeth in their new positions so you can enjoy your straight and beautiful smile for the rest of your life.
